Sotheby’s Contemporary Curated is thrilled to present a spectacular array of works from the post-war period to the present this September. Renowned chef and restaurateur Massimo Bottura curates this season’s sale, lending his unmatched artistic vision to our fantastic selection of Contemporary Art. The sale showcases exceptional works by Cecily Brown, Sam Gilliam, Ed Ruscha, Kerry James Marshall, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Joan Mitchell, among others. This season, we are honored to be presenting works from the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland and The Drawing Center as well as from certain esteemed private collections, including but not limited to the Blema and H. Arnold Steinberg Collection, the Collection of Ryan Brant, and the Collection of Dr. David Sanders and Prof. Jesse Dukeminier. Additionally, we are proud to be partnering with Ugo Rondinone to support bladder cancer research, by collaborating with fifteen celebrated Contemporary artists to offer works in the dedicated portion of the sale titled Stop Bladder Cancer. The sale also features an exemplary assortment of Latin American post-war and Contemporary artists, ranging from Jesús Rafael Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez to Fernando Botero and Olga de Amaral.
